Detox: Day 30

It takes 30 days to form a habit.  After going through this cleanse I believe that now more than ever. The biggest lesson that I’ve learned from it is that life is about planning and balance.  These rules can be applied to all areas of your life.  While trying to live a healthy life you must plan out your meals around your events so that you can balance out the days where you may indulge and the days when you don’t need to.

I’ve learned to take advantage of the good days when I have a lot of energy I make sure I spend extra time in the gym, go running on the trail and eat all healthy foods.  I do this so that when the bad days come I don’t feel as guilty because I am not just piling one bad day on top of another, therefore it can be easily corrected or balanced. Don’t be afraid to indulge, fulfill those cravings when you have them so that one day you don’t just explode and eat everything you’ve been craving all at once.

Lastly workout, workout, workout!  Working out is the most important but not in a vein way simply in a good for your mind, body and soul way.  I always feel so great after I’ve worked out.  It doesn’t matter if I just do 20 minutes of cardio because I’m being lazy it still feels better than nothing.  I had a client once that I dressed for a wedding, she was 94 years old and still in pretty good shape.  She walked with a walker and insisted that no one help her.  She gave me some advice that I will never forget.  She said, “If you want to be able to walk when you are my age then you better make sure you exercise now.”  I had a blonde moment! A light bulb went off in my head. All I could think is, I wanna walk (duhhhh).

Living healthy is an everyday challenge that you have to work on for the rest of your life.  It is not about a lose weight quick scheme or diet it is about making conscious decisions and planning your days to live a well-balanced life.  I am so thankful to God for giving me the will power to take these steps, to #teamfitandfab for being an amazing support team and to myself for finally being fed up enough to make my transformation.  Really excited about tomorrow.

XOXO
