I have a birthday coming up in less then 2 weeks and for the first time in my life I decided to turn it into an event. I’ve always been nervous about doing something like this because I’ve always felt like the kid who would have the party and no one show up. I’ve always kinda been the odd girl out in my own way. But this year I decided to take a risk and do something special. In true Shireal Renee fashion I couldn’t just throw a party I turned into a project. This is “Outside Myself” presented by Brighter Than Before, Ent.!
For a while now I have been wanting to shoot a DVD. I am obsessed with shows like “E” True Hollywood Story and VH1 Storytellers. I’ve always imagined myself being on one of those shows once I blow up and telling my story of how I got there. Anyone who knows me knows that I am extremely impatient when it comes to my career, since I haven’t gotten asked by VH1 to be a “story teller” yet and this birthday is one of my milestones I decided to do one on my own.
So on Thursday May 31st (my birthday) I will be standing on stage with a live band thanks to my musical director Dan Larkum of Rec Room Studios and back up singer – my girl Elle Cee, dishing my deepest secrets to an audience on what made me the person I am today. Although I am not exactly where I want to be I can still make things happen and accomplish goals that I have set for myself.
I am in love with challenges and obsessed with success. I don’t know how to quit and I refuse to lose! This show is going to be life changing. There are only 75 tickets available because I really wanted it to be an intimate affair. I know that who is supposed to be there will be there, people that truly love, support and believe in me. I can’t wait to experience this – it will be true magic!
