Waking Up…

I love my life! As much as I love it I just realized I am falling head over hills in love with my life! I am so blessed I can’t even keep up with my thank you’s and gratitudes. God is great! I’m watching things evolve around me. I looked up this morning and let me just tell you I love spring mornings. They are so wonderful. The air is so crisp and clean, the sun is shining bright before 6am, the birds are chirping, trees are blooming I am totally obsessed with spring mornings. I wish it could be spring all year.

On top of all the wonderful natural beauties of life, I am more focused then I have ever been. Trust me, I didn’t think I could become more focused then I already was but I am so dead set on my goals. Everyday is new and everyday I am making and breaking goals that I set for myself. I am so proud of decisions that I made to get me here. Sometimes it takes for you to go through a storm to understand and appreciate the calm and sit in the light looking into the sun with your eye’s wide open avoiding the squint because you are just ecstatic that it is out. I am looking forward to what’s next and all that life has to offer. I feel good!

Momentum

A good friend of mine once said, “momentum is the hardest thing to get back.” This was years ago. At the time I was on a wave of success I had so many different projects going on at once that I couldn’t keep up with them all. I was practically doing everything on my own and was drowning in task – so I decided to take a break and breathe. This break was only supposed to last for one week. But a week turned into a month and a month into two, then it was a year later and I had no idea where the time went. The worst part of this was all of the projects that I had going on were at a halt. This is when I completely understood what he meant. Let me just say you fall a lot faster then you rise. The climb to the top is long and excruciating but in the end the reward is so much greater then you ever imagined.

The point to me saying all this is you have to keep the momentum going. The only way to truly achieve success is to keep going even when you can’t breathe. Don’t stop even if every limb on your body is sore and throbbing because that is the moment you are about to make a breakthrough. Giving up is not an option. Stay hungry. Know that you can always be doing more. Want that dream more then you want life itself. You have be dream with your eyes open. Never sleep on your own potential, take every opportunity. The only way you fail is if you stop. DON’T STOP! KEEP MOVING!

Then one day you will be there. Standing on the top of that mountain and you will look up and realize that hidden above the clouds is one million more feet to climb. So take a deep breath, dig your heels into the rock and climb.

This has been and interesting week. I just want to send my prayers out to all the people who were affected by the hurricane. There have been so many horror stories and it really saddens me to know that some people are still without electricity, food and water. I hope that this nightmare comes to an end soon. I was happy to see that there was a huge relief effort today across the street from the West Farms mall. There were hundreds of volunteers taking donations of clothing and food for the victims. Many local businesses are also taking donations for hurricane relief so I just hope that it makes a difference to the many people who lost so much!

On a personal note we were fortunate the hurricane didn’t cause us any harm or damage. I am very thankful for that. Aside from working at my clock in job all I week I was able to meet with Howard to start finalizing the Outside Myself DVD. The goal was to have it out before the winter and it looks like we are right on track. This is week 1 of my get healthy now adventure and I did my first weigh in. I hope I have some people in this with me. Today at work this woman I’ve know for a while mistook me for being pregnant!! If I wasn’t motivated before I am definitely ready to get in shape now. Can’t believe this is episode 8 of Voyage to Oprah’s Couch. I feel like it was just last week that the idea came to me and now it is real. I am appreciating the feedback so much. Just the fact that people are taking time out of their lives to watch the show is mind blowing. I can not express my gratitude in words. I just want to say I love you and thank you so much!

This week I opened up to a more personal side of me. My week was not filled with performances and book editing I got back to the basics and took a look at some of the things that I need to focus on that I haven’t like my health and taking care of my body. I took some time out to read and pay attention to other people’s success. I picked up the new Oprah magazine and took some notes from Oprah herself about being grateful and keeping a journal about the things that I am grateful for. I just opened up – I even showed you how much I weigh. Hum…that’s interesting. Check out this episode for a more intimate look into my life. Love you!!
